Over the past weeks, we have faced a devastating flood crisis, leaving many families displaced, homes destroyed, and communities struggling to rebuild. Among the most affected were young children, many of whom were unable to understand the chaos around them yet experienced its consequences in the most vulnerable ways.
In response, we launched our flood-relief donation initiative to bring comfort, dignity, and practical support to those who needed it most. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we have already completed two donation batches, with the third currently in progress.
The first batch focused on urgent needs for children under 12. Families had lost everything, so we provided essentials that could be used immediately. This included milk powder, dry food items, nappies, children’s clothing, basic hygiene items, and other emergency essentials. These donations reached families in temporary shelters, helping them meet their children’s basic needs during this difficult time.
The second batch addressed cleaning and household restoration. As floodwaters receded, homes were left muddy and contaminated, creating unsafe conditions. To support families in regaining a sense of normalcy, we distributed detergents, disinfectants (including Dettol), cleaning liquids, brooms, mops, and other sanitation supplies. These items enabled households to restore cleanliness and safety in their homes.
Through our JustGiving page, we have raised £580 as of 12:00 noon on 8th December – every contribution, whether monetary or in-kind, has gone directly toward supporting children and families in need. To maintain full transparency, all receipts and financial details have been documented, and a complete expense report will be provided at the conclusion of the drive.
The funds we collect will now support our third batch of donations, focused on helping children continue their education. This batch will include school bags, exercise books, pens, pencils, pastels, and other essential stationery. You can still help by contributing to this ongoing batch.
If you wish to support our ongoing efforts, it is not too late. Contributions can be made through our JustGiving page using the link here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/
